New! 4-Hour Class on Laws, Safety, and Sanitation

The Minnesota Board of Cosmetology Examiners has implemented a new rule, stating that beginning August 1, 2014, each licensee must complete a 4-hour continuing education course to renew an operator or salon manager license or to reactivate an inactive license. Ridgewater has custom-developed an engaging and interactive class that meets the BCE's requirements:

  • 1 Hour on Laws and Rules
  • 3 Hours on Safety and Sanitation

40-Hour Cosmetology Refresher

Ridgewater College periodically offers the 40-hour Cosmetology Refresher c​ourse for individuals requesting relicensure per the MN Board of Cosmetology Examiners laws and rules.

ServSafe Food Manager Certification

  • Meets Department of Health requirements for food service managers and professionals
  • Provides 10 hours toward Key Area 1 - Sanitation/Safety for the School Nutrition Association Certification Program

ServSafe Food Manager Recertification

  • Meets Department of Health requirements for food manager recertification
  • Provides 4 hours toward Key Area 1 - Sanitation/Sa​fety for the School Nutrition Association Certification Program

CPR/First Aid for Food Service Workers

  • CPR and foreign body airway obstruction for victims of all ages
  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and use of barrier devices
  • Basic skills to care for injuries and sudden illness
  • American Heart Association certificate card issued upon completion
