Web Programming offers an exciting and challenging career for those who enjoy creativity and problem solving. This degree is designed for individuals who wish to be involved in the design and implementation of websites. Students will learn how the Internet works and how people use the Internet, which is important in the conception of web page design. Navigation, functionality, file size, design concepts and network management are stressed.
The Web Programming coursework prepares the student to develop business applications for the Internet, using leading-edge technologies. The student will master HTTP protocol, Java, Flash, Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, networking concepts and learn how these technologies are implemented across different platforms.
The Internet’s ever-changing environment will continue to increase in popularity as business grows increasingly dependent on web technology. People find employment with Internet service provider companies, private companies, public agencies who design and manage their own websites, and printing companies that offer web services. Positions may be available in the areas of site design, site production, site maintenance and network administration.
